One of my favourite hobbies is working, building and creating in my garden. This link takes you to my local nursery - well, my favourite local nursery. In spring and summer I stop in every chance I get! I love browsing and picking up a few of this and a few of that to put in that perfect spot in my garden! After planting I love sitting in my chair on my deck surrounded by my flowers and reading a good book. Which leads me to.....

This is my next 'fun' book to read. A few years ago I read "The Forgotten Garden" by the same author and was entranced! I've read all her books since and though none has quite had the same effect on me I'm still hoping! Funny story - I've been so busy with course work and keeping up with all the craziness in my life lately. I've been thinking about this book (The Secret Keeper) and thinking that I should get the book in order to have a treat when I finish a course or when I have a few minutes of 'me' time. The other day I was standing by my dresser and there was the book! I have no recollection of buying it but I guess I did....must be really busy! :)

This is my new favourite browsing site..... :) This year we did most of our Christmas shopping online and I loved perusing amazon for cool things for my family - and a few things for me, too. I'm amazed at the prices and have spent many an hour procrastinating on getting my coursework done. Hmmm....maybe I'll just go check in on a few items!...
If I can add an app it would be RunKeeper. Every time I find myself doing coursework I tend to put on a few pounds. Probably due to my go to snacks while reading textbooks and a lack of activity that builds up over the winter. So this January (after lots of snacking my way through 501 and 502) I decided enough was enough. I dropped my Tim Horton's habit (which was surprisingly easy though I haven't turned out to be as rich as I think I should be not buying tea everyday), started working out in the morning every day Monday to Friday and taking the dog on killer walks (7 KM today!) after school most days and on the weekends. Plus I'm slowly starting to cut back on all that junk food and make more healthy choices. RunKeeper allows me to track my progress using the GPS in my iPhone and gives me stats as we are walking on how far I've gone, how fast I walk or run and my average km timing. It saves the route on a map and allows me to input info on how it went and if I walked/ran with anyone. It also sends me notes congratulating me on weekly or monthly records I set for distance or elevation climbs. Very cool. I love runkeeper!, I just recommended it the other day in the d2L discussion forum. It's so great having a record of your activity, and helps a lot with goal setting and staying consistant in one's exercise routine. Ben R
I would also have to add Twitter as an app I want to play with more. Here I was all proud of myself for posting two tweets today, but then realized I didn't post them to the right hashtag.....ah well, a work in progress!....
